Board of Directors Minutes

EHS Auditorium
WELCOME:  President Choppa called the meeting to order at 5:37pm.  Secretary Debby Bishop established quorum.

OLD BUSINESS:
SECRETARY REPORT:  Secretary Bishop presented the minutes from the September 13, 2011 Board of Director’s meeting.  Valerie Johnson moved to accept the minutes.  Susie Franke seconded.
NEW BUSINESS:
TREASURER REPORT:  Treasurer Kellie Bonniwell reported August income of $3,109.50 with expenses of $1,964.47.  The majority of income was from Spirit Wear sales along with minor Membership and Senior Signs sales.  The September 30, 2011 bank statement reports a balance of $11,756.35.  A copy of the treasurer's report has been attached to the minutes.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Bert's Big Thank You:  Tricia Tilton reported that Eagle Mountain has contributed 1850 letters of thanks to the soldiers that were delivered to Q100.  Tricia thanked everyone for participating and supporting the project.
Red Ribbon Week:  President Choppa reported that Red Ribbon Week would be handled as a Senior Project.  Choppa reported that Co-Chair Elaine Carter is the mentor for this project and the PTSA will not be funding this project.
Governor's Honors:  Chair Kim Overy reported that Governor's Honors would be held on Thursday evening November 10th.  Overy stated that she would need donations of various food items for approximately 130 people.  Details TBD with more information to come.
Hospitality:  Co-Chair June Pollack reported that next luncheon will be Soups, Sandwiches and Baked Potatoes on 11/11/11.  Pollack stated that a signup sheet would be sent out at the end of October asking for items needed.
Staff Appreciation:  Co-Chair Linda Alred reported that October will host several appreciation days.  The Custodians will receive lunch and t-shirts, Lunchroom Ladies will be served desserts and given a small token of appreciation and the Bus Drivers will receive goodie bags consisting of home baked items. 
Membership:  President Choppa reported that our current membership total is 1053 to last year's 1149.  Choppa stated that she is hopeful we will make last year's numbers within the next few weeks.
Spirit Wear:  Susie Franke reported that we will be selling the remainder of our items during 4 remaining lunches and 2 games. 
Teacher Grants:  VP Cathy Wallner reported that she has received 16 applications and the board will be meeting within the next week to approve the grants.
Homecoming Parade:  Co-Chair Trish Skalak reported that everything is on track for the parade.  Skalak stated that she could use a few more cars for the court if anyone knows of someone who would like to loan their convertible for the parade.  Skalak reminded the board that there must be an adult on all non-EHS club floats and all EHS club floats much have a CCSD employee.
CLOSING:  President Choppa asked for further questions or comments.  With none; the meeting was adjourned at 6:22pm.
